The location of wasp nests can vary, and is often dependant on the wasp’s surroundings. So in UK built-up urban areas, wasps will seek out dry, dark areas such as lofts, or spaces in between cladding and the roofline, and gaps in guttering, as well as garden areas to site their nest. Another common place to find a wasp’s nest is in your garage, or garden shed, with the latter sometimes giving quite a surprise to an owner re-entering a shed once Spring weather is upon us.
Rotten tree stumps, and rock or wall crevices are also a favoured location for wasps to build a nest.
